Why I don’t install custom ROMs anymore!

I own a Google nexus 5 since October 2014 and am a proud user. Ever since I bought it within couple of weeks I rooted that beast and installed a cyanogenMod which I was dying to try. As I was fed up using a Xperia x10 mini those days. And with nexus devices it becomes very easy to just root, install twrp recovery and custom rom. I mean you have got apps that can do stuff right for you without a PC.

Why I Don't root and install custom recovery?

Every time whenever I come back to Stock ROM, I always have root access and that is a must as I have my life working on rooted apps like xposed installer, wifiKill, Es file explorer and many more. With root access and stock ROMs stability it’s a comfort zone for me. But whenever if get a notification for a security update and install, it will not apply the update. Why? Because you have now modified the boot img of the phone and you can only apply an update when you have stock recovery with no root access.

Why I don't install custom ROMs?

I know every tech geek loves flashing ROMs every now and then whenever a new custom ROM releases or builds for it, but you do have to backup all your stuff on your cloud or PC to play everything safe. Particularly I don’t care about my data storage, I just wipe the whole storage without any consent as i don’t own any type of data that is necessary. All the apps can be downloaded again from the play store but takes time over here from my 1MBPS network connection. These are just minor problems of what I’m facing, mainly what bugs is that uneven/random reboot that takes place whenever you heavy multi-task or something goes wrong. Custom ROMs are highly unstable and you should only try when you don’t have any option or you just get bored from the stock ROM which has limited customizations using for long time.

When Google started releasing security updates it just bugged me about those updates every month and I used to be proud like I’m only few percentage of those who are getting updates while other OEM aren’t even getting Marshmallow support at times. I mean now there are 4% people out of the total users.
I know this is probably this was year of the nexus 5 for android upgrades and will not receive any of those from now onwards. Maybe I think that will be the time to set go all those custom ROM things again but for now I am enjoying the last official days from Google updates for the Google Nexus 5.

I still love my time with the nexus 5 as it gets the job done and has the latest version of android with the security updates. This phone lives up to my expectations and does play games and handles pretty good. Already July images are out yesterday and I am probably thinking of flashing them as it would wipe the phone and would run the phone like smooth as I haven’t wiped it since over 7 months I suppose. But I am anything just gonna wait for OTA updates as I am done goofing off with the phone.

I know everybody is going to say that bro custom ROM is more stable and does bring more customizations, but what I have found over time that there is nothing as stable as that of stock ROM. This blog post wasn’t written to offend someone so calm down. Let me know your thoughts regarding this topic.

Why is it necessary to have nexus Root toolkit for nexus users

Hi, back with another blog posts and today we are talking the real deal for nexus users. Doesn’t matter if you are a tech geek or an average JOE who just wants the things done. This is a piece of software which is free (although if you could donate that’s great) and you should have this in your PC installed. It is available only for windows users.

What is NRT?

NRT stands for nexus root Toolkit and is developed by a , it’s your rescue guide software for your phone, if anything goes wrong or you get unknown problems. Just flash the stock ROM back if you are not satisfied with any type of custom ROM or relock the bootloader back if you are going to the service centre and want something done under warranty. Keep reading and find out more of it below.

Why you should install nexus Root Toolkit?

It’s a go-to companion for a proud nexus user. I mean if you are having any kind of troubles with your phone like it does not get detect automatically when you connect your phone to the PC, you can easy install drivers without searching through the internet, the software provides you in it.

Whatever happens to your phone in the software section, you need not worry about going to the service centre and beg for help. You can now from home.
You can unlock the bootloader of your phone with just a click from the unlock Bootloader section.

One click root for any nexus device you just have to connect your device and let the software do it’s work.

Overview of NRT

Basically once you install nexus root Toolkit, you’ll be recommended to download some files like the ROM, SuperSU and TWRP recovery, you should do that once you select your particular model of your Smartphone. The software supports every kind of nexus Smartphone, so you should be good to go.

The software gets updates basically every time with a newer version so that you can get latest versions of the files available.

You do get a live log of everything you do with the software real time which is handy like i can see that what kinds of files are pushing in my Smartphone and what are the ADB commands being used.

I know we do have Android SDK’s platform tools for flashing android updates from Google but with this software we don’t have to write commands just select your ROM file and it does everything for you.

You can take your regular backups and restore them without hiccups. If you want to install custom recovery or root you can take the Full Driver installation guide where it’ll guide you the steps to install ADB/fastboot drivers.

If you want advanced setting you can check the Advanced utilities section where in you can revert back to stock kernel if you installed a custom kernel, sideload an OTA Update, install android APK’s, take screenshot, install custom ROMs like Cyanogen OS  and pretty much anything you want the stuff done can be found here.

My verdict

It is very necessary to have software like this in your PC which can rescue at times and also it does not take much space. You can install latest OTA updates directly from the software and skip waiting for official OTA updates. This software has helped me in many times when i literally just soft bricked my smartphone while installing a custom ROM, but could recover by this software within an hour. Must have software, download from here or from below the post.

Let me know in the comments section below that when and why did you started using this software, I mean I used to use this software to root my Smartphone and install TWRP recovery all the time, because it’s easy and then install custom ROMs from my phone.

Thank you for taking your time to read if you like it subscribe and share with the needy and let the debate keep going.

How to convert JPG to PDF

So, I want to write this tutorial because I want to help people those who want the conversion nice and easy way, but I can also relate this in future if I forget about it. So I can track this tutorial and convert my documents whenever required. Blogging is just a thing for me by which I can store all the tutorials for myself and for my friends who ask for it, so I need not require to explain every time whoever asks, i’ll just  share the tutorial.

jpg to pdf

Today, my bother came from office and asked for help regarding conversion of images into PDF, I mean I did this long time ago but did not recall how I am supposed to do now, so I bumped into this method which I’m going to share right now! Just took 3-5 mins to convert everything. There’s nothing need to worry, sit back and relax.

I researched and found about an online conversion tool, and tried with sample images from my desktop and it worked amazingly. So for documents, it required to look clean and it was already night time and shadow was coming in between images. For clear and smooth transition of images what we did was installed CamScanner from play store which is a free application, you can download from here.

So we scanned all the images (5 pages to be precise) and then in CamScanner application you also have an option to create a PDF without even going through all this procedure but the only problem with this was it wasn’t serially arranged in the PDF format so we just copied the images to my laptop and uploaded to this conversion page and then download.

Requirements

  • Open convert jpg to PDF, any web browser of your choice should work for this method.
  • Now you can also customize, everything you want from margins to image size, check all the options and feel free to try all of those.
  • Click on select jpg files and now serially add them in ascending order if you want, otherwise anything will do.
  • Then click on convert PDF, after that you’ll be able to download.

How to convert jpg to PDF
note- images are compressed in order to reduce load times, and run the site faster.

Suppose you are at work and all you have is a Smartphone and you have to mail the documents to someone, you can scan all your images with CamScanner and just convert and send it to anyone who wants the documents in pdf format.

If you have a scanner you can just scan all your documents, by this you don’t have keep clicking images from your Smartphone every time and then just upload all the images to that conversion page and then download the PDF and send to anyone you’d wish to. Just to save money, we can click images from Smartphone and do this instead, nowadays you’re Smartphone can do things which were supposed to be doing on a PC.

So here we go this was simple yet effective tutorial which will always come in handy at times, make sure you share with those who want.
