We now have cinnamon, xfce, kde, gnome, openbox based flavours. So for beginners I would recommend trying linuxmint cinnamon edition if you are coming from windows and pop os if you are coming from Mac os. Although they are not exactly the same but your mileage may vary.

2) Once opened, search for xscreensaver app. Input your password and install it.

3) Open it from there and search for the screensaver at the bottom which indicates xmatrix. 

4) Click on it and choose the screensaver duration according to your liking. By default it's on 5 minutes 

TERMINAL METHOD

Open terminal by pressing Ctrl+alt+t 

Type the following commands.

Sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Press enter, then type

Sudo apt install xscreensaver-gl

Open xscreensaver from terminal or in your applications menu. And search for xmatrix option.

This tutorial is only for Ubuntu based distributions although for arch Linux based distributions you could try using the dnf commands but I'm only writing this tutorial based on what I've already tried and working on my system.

Google messages: universal texting like iMessage for android by default

So let me explain. If you don't have a sim card in your tablet, then you can pair your tablet with Google messages and receive your bank OTPs or your friends sms. Same can be done with computers.

This Google messages app is so good you don't need to fiddle with it like you would on WhatsApp when you get spam calls or texts. Google already has a good spam filter in the app. And if you get one you can block easily, help others from not receiving it.

You can schedule your messages in Google messages app. Suppose you want to wish someone happy birthday on a special time or remember someone something at a particular time you can use that feature.

1) Download the extension from GitHub. It is not available in the official google extension repositories.

This extension is available for both Mozilla Firefox as well as Google Chrome. Google Chrome means it will work with Chromium, Brave browser or any fork of Google chrome. You try and let me know in the comments section. I am trying this on Mozilla Firefox. 

For Mozilla Firefox users the extension can be installed directly by clicking on the Download button from GitHub and it also supports automatic updates.

2) Unzip the file and you should have a folder named bypass-paywalls-chrome-master.

3)In Chrome/Edge go to the extensions page (chrome://extensions or edge://extensions).

4) Enable Developer Mode.

5) Drag the bypass-paywalls-chrome-master folder anywhere on the page to import it (do not delete the folder afterwards).

It will show the number of websites it will allow you to read the articles, in case you don't find your website in it then you are out of luck because their paywall might be too hardened to crack. 

If you have logged in to one of the sites mentioned, you must logout and un-check that website otherwise it will log you out automatically which will hinder you workflow/experience.

6) Click on save.

 Today, we will learn how to block advertisements on your browser. Don’t get me wrong I am not against advertisements but sometimes it becomes nagging after getting hit by the same ad everywhere. I have an Pentium 4 processor based computer and it cannot handle day-to-day tasks of the modern web. How to watch Jio tv on smart/Android TV via Kodi

Today we will learn how to implement jio tv app with the help of kodi app from Play Store. Don't get me wrong we can directly watch Jio tv on our tv but the app is optimised for mobile, so using it on a tv without a mouse or keyboard because a task.

With kodi app you get to do everything with just the remote which came with the tv and the interface is relatively easy if you get the hang of it.

1) First of all download kodi application from Play Store or download via apkmirror if your tv does not have an Play Store built in. I know you are the one who doesn't have an app store. 2) Open kodi app and go to settings----> file manager----> add source.

3) you will see something like none. Click on it and type https://kodi.botallen.com 
Press on ok.
Go to enter a name for this media source- type jio tv.

4) come back and choose Add-ons.
Click on install from zip file.
Kodi will prompt to enable unknown sources. 
Please enable them because the repository is from outside of kodi repository. 
This is just like installing apps from outside play store so always use trusted kodi repositories.
Enable unknown sources and enable notifications.

5) come back and click on install from zip file. Click on jio tv which will be already there in the menu. Click on jio tv let it load/install, it might take some time depending on the performance of your tv.

6) Now we have to install the plugin file of jio tv which has to be installed via a pendrive or you can use the send files to tv app from the play store. 
To install the plugin file do the same install from zip file. Now select the storage where you have saved. For example if you are using a pendrive then choose external storage and install that jio tv plugin file.

7) It might take 5 mins for the plugin to become active please watch you screen carefully till it says installed successfully.

8) now jio tv will enforce you to login to your account. Choose OTP and input your phone number and OTP to authenticate. It will say login success.

9) Now go to add-ons and then long press on your jio tv app. 
Click on settings.
On left panel choose setup and then click on setup simple IPTV PVR. Let it do its thing and boom 💥

10) now it would be good if you reboot kodi application but that is not necessary. Go to tv section in kodi menu and all your tv channels will start populating accordingly.

How to add Flag Counter on your Website

 Today we will learn how to add Flag Counter on your website. This tutorial will cater to blogger platform but it is the same for WordPress or any self hosted website.

Now the question arises why to Install a Flag Counter because we can manually check all the historic data from our own respective Dashboard, for Ex: blogger shows it in our dashboard.

Let's just say it looks nice on the homepage and I am very lazy to check the stats or it might look like I'm bragging about my blog whatever one might think.

With Warpinator you can share files to anyone who is logged in to the same network. I am also trying it for the

first time so let’s learn together.


Open warpinator by pressing the windows key or super key for linux enthusiasts.


It will tell you to input a secret password. Put it and if you have not set warpinator on any device it will show

“No other computer found...”


Now install warpinator on your android phone or windows laptop. As of today warpinator supports Windows,

Android, Linux and iOS.

After installing you will automatically see devices pop-up in both your devices.

PC Build under Rs 26000

There's a long story to this. If you can't read just scroll down to the end to find the specifications.

Ashik and I had decided that we would go buy a new PC because the old one was messing up with my daily flow of purpose which was basic YouTube videos for study. My old PC had a Pentium processor which was a dual core CPU with 2GB of ram in 2023, would you imagine :P


We decided to meet at 12 at Vashi as I had my ibps RRB clerk exam on that day which was at Powai. There was megablock on that day as it was a Sunday. I had to come via thane. At thane, I already saw from my m-indicator app that there was a train to Vashi at 11:20, while i was crossing the platforms, it was already 11:15 so I thought naturally the incoming train would be of Vashi. I could'nt even check the indicator as the platform was full of people by the time I reached there I boarded the train. It was jam-packed.


To my surprise when the train didn't turned at Turbhe, I noticed that I have boarded the wrong train and I will have to align before it gets to far as there was a megablock. No trains were running on the harbour lines. So I had to get off and catch a bus to Vashi from Juinagar Railway Station. Ashik also reached Vashi Plaza in the mean time.


We asked the shopkeeper for a PC build between 20-25k, he showed us an intel build with i5 10400 I believe with 500GB SSD, 8gb ram, which was satisfactory but I watched Explaining Computer's guy YouTube Video which featured this build which I built. It took nearly 2 hours for the build as I was getting an b320 motherboard which was swapped to b450 with the same price budget. For trails we got Windows 11 installed till I setup my pc, anyways now it runs LinuxMint. Journey about LinuxMint would be posted soon!
